Although these mysterious VR were introduced for the first time back in February they aren’t yet available to masses. However, thanks to the recent blog post published by Oculus chief scientist Michael Abrash, we can now watch these secret Mark Zuckerberg’s gloves in action and it definitely worth watching.
Just a few month ago we had a chance to see the photo that Zuckerberg posted saying: “Wearing these gloves, you can draw, type on a virtual keyboard, and even shoot webs like Spider Man. That’s what I’m doing here.” Well, now we can actually see it ourselves!
Just imagine, if Oculus could introduce a mainstream version of these retroreflector-covered VR gloves! Instead of using controllers, even wireless, all the users will need to do is to put on a pair of gloves and “get inside” the VR with their own hands.
As the video shows, the gloves technology precisely reflects the hands and fingers motions, and that’s definitely what the current motion-powered systems are lacking.
