AR is a great way of sports promotion as well as bringing the community together

Kansas City Chiefs, professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri, competing in the National Football League, have presented their fans a new way to celebrate their team’s history this season.  In collaboration with AR developer YinzCam, they have created a branded AR app specially for the “Coca-Cola Refreshing Moments in Chiefs History” campaign.

The app, available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows, is activated when scanning a special edition, Chiefs-branded Coca-Cola can, and the user sees the digital content displayed over the can: he can view detailed info on each team’s player, observe stats or watch a selection of historical plays.

In addition, the app features six different codes embedded within the highlights. These codes can be entered in the Chiefs Kingdom Rewards program inside the team’s app for a chance to win a trip for two to the Chiefs-Cowboys game in Dallas on Nov. 5, 2017.

The limited edition, 16-ounce Chiefs Coca-Cola cans can be purchased at grocery stores and gas stations throughout Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.

The popularity of AR technology is growing and this is another great example of its usage in a promotion.
